My Review of the SurgiCam HD® Video System

Peter J. Apel, MD, PhD

Dr. Apel graduated with honors from Stritch School of Medicine Loyola University Chicago before completing an internship in the Department of Surgery and residency and hand surgery fellowship in orthopedic surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.

Dr. Apel joined Carilion Clinics Institute for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences in 2015, where he specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery and pediatric orthopedic surgery. He is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and has won awards for both academic excellence and resident teaching. Dr. Apel is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
